The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Ibinabo Fiberesima, was recently honored by the nollywood celebrities at the Xovar Lounge Lekki, Lagos on the 12th of May 2013. The honor was as a result of her being the first female president the Guild has ever had.
The event which commenced with a red carpet, witnessed lots of nollywood icons such as Doris Simeon, Benjamin Joseph, Alima Abubakar, kareem Raheem, Osita Iheme, Frank Douglas, Caroline kings and others grazing the occasion. Comedians such as Julius Agwu, Klint‘d’ Drunk and others were also in attendance to light up the event.
For the Actors, one of the significant aspects of the party was the “Hot seat”. According to Ibinabo, while answering questions, she explained that the Guild is out to cater for the needs and health of its members, but that the only way this could be achieved was if actors come under the umbrella of the association as well as pay their regular dues.
She was thereafter honored with an outstanding award by the CEO Xovar Lounge, Mr. Olumide, alongside her childhood friends, other past Presidents of the Guild, the present secretary and the P.R.O of the Guild
